Director of Operations

Kelly Catania

Kelly Catania once served on our board, but it now currently employed by Catch the Wave of Hope as the Director of Operations as well as the Marketing Director for the Visionary School of Arts.  Kelly oversees all marketing, fundraising and events for both entities. 

Prior to her current position, Kelly was employed by the Stuart/ Martin County Chamber of Commerce as the Event Director which was her first job when she was new to the state of Florida.  Previously, she served as the Chamber of Commerce President in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  Other careers include a Commercial Insurance Underwriter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a Marketing Director for several construction companies in Pittsburgh and the Youngstown, Ohio region, which is her home town.

In addition to her professional experience, she has served on several boards, including but not limited to, Elizabeth City Downtown Inc. (NC), Elizabeth City Area Visitors & Convention Bureau (NC), Elizabeth City State University (NC), Insurance Club of Pittsburgh (PA), Insurance Professionals of Pittsburgh (PA), and the Chancellor Search Committee of Elizabeth City State University (NC). 

Some career highlights include her own radio show that she solely created titled Chamber Chat which she conducted each month to highlight the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce events and showcase her sponsors and members.  She made numerous television appearances on local news stations to highlight events, economic development and tourist attractions in the Northeastern North Carolina region.  Under her Presidential Chamber Leadership, she created the Military Affairs Committeeas a resource to Veterans and current military personnel to assist with their issues and needs.  She also ran the annual Coast Guard Weekevent in NC to offer special discounts and activities for the USCG families which concluded with a live concert that showcased appreciation for all military branches. This week-long event full of festivities was in partnership with the USO of NC and drew thousands of attendees each year.  She also helped to create numerous fund-raisers and awareness events for the local Animal Shelters, Red Cross, Military Groups, Purple Heart Homes, Habitat for Humanity and mentored several students from local schools, universities and other youth organizations.

Kelly graduated from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio with a degree in Business Administration, with a Major in Public Relations and Advertising and a Minor in Graphic Art and Design.  She resides in Jensen Beach with her husband Fil, who is the General Manager of Treasure Coast Toyota and their rescue Chihuahua Jake. She also has a step-son Fil Jr. and step-daughter Jordan.
